According to Iranian media, Bekayi made a statement to Al Jazeera Television regarding Trump's claims about the ceasefire. Bekayi evaluated Trump's statement that "the leader of Iran's new regime asked him for a ceasefire," saying, "Trump's statements about the ceasefire have no reality."
Trump made statements regarding the war that began with the attacks of the U.S. and Israel on Iran in a post on his social media account.
TRUMP: IRAN'S NEW PRESIDENT ASKED FOR A CEASEFIRE
President Trump stated, "The president of Iran's new regime, which is much less radical and much smarter than its predecessors, asked for a ceasefire from the United States," expressing that they would evaluate this when the Strait of Hormuz is safely opened for passage.
U.S.-ISRAEL'S ATTACKS ON IRAN
While negotiations continued between Tehran and Washington, Israel and the U.S. launched a military attack on Iran on February 28. Iran responded with attacks on targets it identified in several regional countries, including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Bahrain, where U.S. bases are located, in addition to Israel.
In the U.S.-Israel attacks, many high-ranking officials, including former Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, were killed.
