Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated, "We intentionally kept our (missile) range below 2,000 kilometers because we do not want to be perceived as a threat by anyone in the world."
Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi made statements to the US press. Araghchi referred to the attacks by the US and Israel on Iran, saying, "The US and Israel are killing our people, killing schoolgirls, attacking hospitals."
Stating that Israel and the US have already violated the ceasefire reached to end last year's 12-day war, Araghchi said, "Do you want a ceasefire again? This is not how it works. The war needs to end permanently. Until that is ensured, I believe we must continue to fight for our people and our security."
"COOPERATION BETWEEN IRAN AND RUSSIA IS NOT NEW"
Regarding reports that Russia has provided intelligence to Iran about the position of US forces in the Middle East, Araghchi stated, "The cooperation between Iran and Russia is not new, it is not a secret," and did not provide information on whether Russian intelligence has helped Iran locate US military assets. Araghchi said, "They help us in many different ways, I do not have detailed information."
"WE ARE ATTACKING US BASES, FACILITIES, AND ASSETS"
Stating that Iran does not intentionally attack Arab countries, Araghchi said, "Unfortunately, we are attacking US bases, facilities, and assets located on the territories of our neighbors." Araghchi announced that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian apologized to the local people for the discomfort they experienced due to the US attack and our retaliation.
Regarding how to respond to an operation against Iran, Araghchi emphasized that they have brave soldiers who are waiting for every enemy that enters Iranian territory, ready to fight and kill them.
"WE KEPT OUR RANGE BELOW 2,000 KILOMETERS"
Denying US President Donald Trump's statement that Iran is very close to producing missiles that could hit the US, Araghchi said, "This is not true. This is actually misinformation. You know, we have the capacity to produce missiles, but we intentionally kept our range below 2,000 kilometers because we do not want to be perceived as a threat by anyone in the world."
Regarding the news that Iran's new religious leader has been elected by the Assembly of Experts, Araghchi did not provide information about who the new religious leader is, saying, "No one knows. There are many rumors going around. But you know, we need to wait for the Assembly of Experts to convene."
"CHOOSING A NEW LEADER IS THE DUTY OF THE IRANIAN PEOPLE"
Referring to Trump's statement about wanting to interfere in the selection of the new religious leader, Araghchi stated that Iran will not allow anyone to interfere in its internal affairs, saying, "Choosing the new leader is the duty of the Iranian people. The people have already elected the Assembly of Experts, and the Assembly of Experts will carry out this duty."
