Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi responded to US President Donald Trump's remarks about declaring the Strait of Hormuz "American territory" by saying, "The Strait of Hormuz cannot be seized by a tweet, an aircraft carrier, an order, or a campaign speech." Stating that the US must also acknowledge its strategic and heavy defeats against Iran, Gharibabadi said, "The Strait of Hormuz belonged to Iran, belongs to Iran, and will belong to Iran."
Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi responded to US President Trump's claim about the Strait of Hormuz in a message shared on his social media account.
"THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ WAS IRAN'S, IS IRAN'S, AND WILL BE IRAN'S" Gharibabadi said, "The Strait of Hormuz can neither be seized by a tweet, nor by an aircraft carrier, nor by issuing orders, nor by a campaign speech... Iran neither fears threats nor can it be intimidated by shows of force."
Addressing US President Trump and stating that the US must acknowledge its strategic and heavy defeats against Iran, Gharibabadi included the following statements in his message: "The Strait of Hormuz was Iran's, is Iran's, and will be Iran's. This strait will be closed and opened only by Iran's order, and as long as you do not admit the real defeat and do not give up your dreams, Iran will continue to impose a blockade (on the Strait of Hormuz)."
Kazem Gharibabadi TRUMP HAD SAID "I WILL DECLARE THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ US TERRITORY" In a statement yesterday, Trump claimed that the US Navy was imposing a full blockade on the Strait of Hormuz and asserted, "After completely defeating Iran, I will soon declare the Strait of Hormuz US territory."
Iranian officials frequently state that the Strait will not be opened unless the US stops its interventions in the Strait of Hormuz, lifts the naval blockade, and fulfills the requirements of the agreement signed between Tehran and Washington on June 17.
US President Donald Trump, in a message shared on his social media account the day before, had stated that the US has "total control" over the Strait of Hormuz and that he believes they can maintain this control.
Ibrahim Zolfiqari, spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, Iran's highest military unit coordinating the war, denied Trump's claim in a statement yesterday, stating that "no ship can pass through the Strait of Hormuz without Iran's permission and oversight."
