The head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization, Mohammad Eslami, made a statement regarding Tehran's nuclear production activities, which U.S. President Trump said he would definitely not allow. Eslami stated that the dilution of 60% enriched uranium is contingent upon the lifting of all sanctions. He also indicated that they are in favor of inspections of nuclear facilities.
The head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization, Mohammad Islami, stated that Tehran's dilution of 60% enriched uranium depends on whether all sanctions are lifted or not.
"WE WILL DILUTE URANIUM IF SANCTIONS ARE LIFTED"
Speaking to the Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA), Islami provided assessments regarding Tehran's nuclear program and enriched uranium.
Islami conveyed that exporting Iran's enriched uranium is not on their agenda and that this issue was not discussed in the negotiation talks in Oman, stating that the dilution of the 60% enriched uranium in his country depends on whether all sanctions are lifted or not.
Islami pointed out that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) remained silent in the face of attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities, saying, "The inspectors examined centers that were not attacked. In the coming days, they will also visit some other centers."
"THE NUCLEAR ISSUE MUST NO LONGER BE USED AS AN EXCUSE"
Noting that they could not reach an agreement with the IAEA regarding the inspection of the attacked facilities, Islami claimed that the Agency remained silent on this matter. Islami also made statements regarding the negotiation talks held in Oman. Emphasizing that a different picture would emerge if the negotiation talks were conducted sincerely, Islami stated that the nuclear issue must no longer be used as an excuse.
"URANIUM ENRICHMENT IS OUR RIGHT"
Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also claimed that the US and Israeli bombardment could not destroy Iran's nuclear capabilities, stating, "(Uranium) Enrichment activities must continue, and this is our right. However, we are ready for a reassuring agreement regarding the (enrichment) rate."
NEGOTIATIONS BETWEEN IRAN AND THE US
The nuclear talks between Iran and the US, which were interrupted after the attacks by Israel and the US on Iran in June 2025, were resumed in Oman on February 6. The Iranian delegation was led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, while the US was represented by President Donald Trump's Special Representative for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff.
The negotiations took place during a period when tensions were rising again on the Iran-US line, with Washington increasing its military buildup against Tehran in the region.
