"IRAN WANTS TO MOVE THE MEETING TO OMAN" CLAIM
Reports in the US press suggest that Iran has requested the meeting, which is claimed to take place in Istanbul on Friday, to be moved to Oman and for the format of the meeting to be changed to a bilateral one. Several Arab and Muslim countries were expected to participate as observers in the meeting.
LOCATION AND FORMAT NOT YET OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED
While the location and format of the meeting have not yet been officially announced, it is anticipated that the US delegation will be led by US President Donald Trump's Special Representative for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, and the Iranian delegation will be led by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi.
WITKOFF MET WITH NETANYAHU
Witkoff visited Israel today and met with Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. It was reported that the discussion included Iran, and that Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, Mossad Chief David Barnea, and Military Intelligence Chief General Shlomi Binder were also present at the meeting.
