A grand state funeral is being held in the capital Tehran for former Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, who lost his life in a joint attack conducted by the US and Israel. High-level government representatives from nearly 100 countries attended the mourning ceremony at the Imam Khomeini Grand Prayer Hall. During the ceremony, held under intense security measures, moments when Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf were seen unable to hold back their tears while praying beside the coffin were captured on camera.
A state ceremony is being held in the capital Tehran for Iran's former leader Ali Khamenei, who lost his life in the attack carried out by the US and Israel on February 28.
REPRESENTATIVES FROM 100 COUNTRIES ATTENDED
The ceremony, held at Imam Khomeini Musalla Mosque in Tehran, the capital of Iran, began with a recitation from the Quran and a moment of silence. Heads of state and parliament, foreign ministers, and special representatives of governments from approximately 100 countries participated in the condolence ceremony. Extensive security measures have been taken in the ceremony area, while mourning rituals continue.
THEY COULD NOT HOLD BACK THEIR TEARS
Meanwhile, it was observed that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Iran's Parliament and Negotiation Council Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf could not hold back their tears while reciting prayers in front of Khamenei's coffin.
