The President of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, made a post on his social media account after the assassination of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, the capital of Iran. Raisi said in his post, "Today, Iran mourns the brave leader of the Palestinian resistance and martyr of Jerusalem, Hajj Ismail Haniyeh, who shared our sorrows and joys, and who was a companion and source of pride for the resistance. Yesterday, I raised his victorious hand, and today I will carry his funeral on my shoulders."
"IRAN WILL PROTECT ITS HONOR"
Raisi stated, "The bond between Iran and Palestine will strengthen further, and the path of resistance and the determination to defend the oppressed will continue even stronger than before. The Islamic Republic of Iran will protect its territorial integrity, dignity, pride, and honor, and will make the occupying terrorists regret their cowardly actions."
PROMISE OF REVENGE FROM HAMANEY
The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, also promised revenge following the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh. Khamenei said, "It is Iran's duty to avenge Haniyeh's blood, as he was martyred on our soil."
