3.1 BILLION EURO SIGNATURE IN TEL AVIV
Israel and Greece signed the Achilles Shield air defense agreement, worth 3.1 billion euros, in Tel Aviv. The agreement was stated to be the largest defense deal ever made between the two countries. The project aims to strengthen Greece's nationwide air defense capacity and enable multiple systems to operate in a coordinated manner against threats.
3 DIFFERENT SYSTEMS TO UNITE UNDER A SINGLE SHIELD
One of the most striking features of the Achilles Shield project is that it will bring together different air defense systems within a multi-layered protection network. Under the agreement, David's Sling, SPYDER, and BARAK MX systems will form parts of Greece's new air defense architecture. The agreement also set a timeline for the systems to become operational. The "Achilles Shield" is targeted to reach full operational capacity within 35 months.
