In a statement from the Israeli army, it was alleged that the targeted individuals were holding a meeting to coordinate activities between Iran, Hezbollah, and other armed groups in Lebanon.
According to the statement, among those who lost their lives in the attack were Majid Hoseini, who was allegedly responsible for transferring money to armed groups including Hezbollah and Hamas in Lebanon, Ali Riza Bey Azar, the Intelligence Commander of the Lebanese Union, and Ahmed Resuli, an Intelligence Officer of the Palestinian Union.
CLAIM OF INTELLIGENCE OFFICERS BEING KILLED
The Israeli army also claimed that intelligence officer Hussein Ahmedlu, who was said to be responsible for gathering information about Israel, and Abu Mohammed Ali, who was alleged to be a Hezbollah representative in the Palestinian Union and to facilitate coordination between Hezbollah and the Quds Force, were also killed in the attack.
The statement suggested that the Lebanese Union served as a central point of contact between Iran and Hezbollah.
ATTACKS ON LEBANON CONTINUE
On March 2, the Israeli army announced that sirens were activated in the northern part of the country after detecting missile launches from Lebanon. Following this, Israel stated that it had initiated airstrikes across Lebanon and that the capital Beirut was also targeted.
After intense attacks from the air and sea, the Israeli army reported that it had decided to expand its ground operation in Lebanon.
CASUALTIES INCREASING
Lebanon's Health Minister Reken Nasreddin announced that the number of people who lost their lives in the attacks carried out by Israel on Lebanon since March 2 had increased by 100 to 394, and the number of injured had risen to 1130.
