After the recent assassinations carried out by the Israeli army, Israelis are going to bed and waking up with concerns about possible retaliatory attacks. According to a news report in the Israeli media, following the attack on Hamas leader Haniyeh, people started stockpiling food at home and refrained from going outside. As a result of those who want to alleviate their concerns, alcohol sales have increased and there has been a surge in demand for psychologists and tranquilizer medications.

It is stated that after the assassinations of Ismail Haniyeh, the Political Bureau Chief of Hamas, and Fuad Shukr, a senior commander of Hezbollah, in response to possible retaliation from Iran, Israelis have been stocking up on food, preferring not to leave their homes, and seeking psychological support.

RESTAURANTS ARE EMPTY, ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION IS INCREASING

The Yedioth Ahronot newspaper published a report on the preparations made by Israelis in the increasing atmosphere of concern.

According to the report, there has been a 260% increase in ice cream sales following Haniyeh's assassination. The most requested products after ice cream were canned foods such as tuna, corn, and pickles, with a 140% increase.

Israelis have been avoiding going to restaurants and cafes in recent days. Reservations at a famous restaurant in Tel Aviv decreased by 50% over the weekend. Orders at pizza restaurants, on the other hand, increased. The increase in order rates reached 40% over the weekend. This increase was influenced by Israelis choosing to stay at home and eat pizza instead of going out at night.

The increase in demand for alcoholic beverages by worried Israelis is noteworthy. The report quoted the owner of a bar in the city of Rishon Lezion in central Israel. According to him, bar customers who wanted to get rid of their concerns started drinking more.

DEMAND FOR PSYCHOLOGISTS AND CALMING AGENTS SURGED

Israelis have also been seeking psychological support. While it has become more difficult to get appointments with psychologists and psychiatrists in the past few days, the average session fee has increased to 450 shekels ($122.5). According to a psychologist mentioned in the report, there has been a "crazy" increase in demand for psychological counseling services, and psychologists have had to work long hours.

There has also been a 30% increase in demand for sleeping pills and tranquilizers in the country.

Due to the suspension of flights to Tel Aviv by many international airlines, thousands of Israelis have been stranded abroad, while many Israelis have made reservations to travel abroad through airlines such as Corendon Europe that continue their flights.

ASSASSINATIONS CARRIED OUT BY ISRAEL

Fuad Shukr, a senior commander of Hezbollah, was killed in an attack by the Israeli army in Beirut on July 30.

Ismail Haniyeh, the Political Bureau Chief of Hamas, was also targeted in an assassination in Tehran, the capital of Iran, on July 31.

The Tel Aviv administration had announced that it expected a "strong response" from Hezbollah in Lebanon and Iran following the killing of Shukr in the air attack on Beirut and the assassination of Haniyeh in Tehran.
