Studies are ongoing to eliminate the difference in salaries for retirees in 2024 and 2025. The Ministry of Labor and Social Security and the Ministry of Treasury and Finance are working on formulas. The report related to the issue is expected to be announced next week.

The difference in salaries for retirees in 2024 and 2025 has been influenced by economic indicators and the monthly pension system. Experts advise those who wish to retire this year not to rush. Private sector workers have until December 31 to apply for retirement this year.

Tarkan Zengin, a lecturer at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, stated the following in his evaluation on TRT News regarding the issue; a study is being conducted to ensure that the retirement advantage gained in 2024 is not lost in other years as well. The outcome of this will, of course, depend on the results of these studies, including the costs that will arise, the effects on the social security system, and the framework of not losing qualified employees. SSK and Bağkur retirees are also eagerly awaiting the results of this study. It does not concern civil servants. In previous periods, such differences also occurred, but this time there is a very large difference of 30-35 percent. There are fundamentally two reasons for this: the first is the welfare share given in January. While a 37.57% increase was to be made, retirees received a 49.25% increase.
