It has been revealed that 20 children were abused for months at a Quran course in Ankara.

It has been revealed that 20 children of a young age receiving religious education in a dormitory serving in Sincan, Ankara, were repeatedly beaten by instructors and that the incident was covered up by the dormitory management.

THEY LEFT THE DORM AFTER THE BEATING INCIDENTS

In the footage captured by security cameras, M.A., who was serving as an instructor in the course, is seen beating multiple children in the classroom, while the children who were subjected to 'torture' in the dormitory for years have left the dorm.

"HE WOULD WAKE US UP BY BEATING US"

17-year-old A.A. stated, "He would come to our room during the morning prayer and wake us up by beating us. When we told the administrators, we received the response, 'He is your teacher, such things can happen,'" indicating that the process they experienced was left unresolved.

"THEY WERE MAKING MONEY THROUGH RELIGION"

A.A., who had to stay in the dormitory under difficult conditions for a year due to his family's support for the dormitory management, stated that the donations coming to the dorm were also withheld by these teachers, saying, "They were making money through religion." A.A. noted that all the children staying in the dormitory 3-4 days a week were beaten, and many children could not tell their families about the incidents due to fear.

"WE WERE TREATED LIKE DOGS"

16-year-old B.A., who stayed in the dormitory for 2 years, recounted that M.A. applied violence even without any incident, saying, "While eating in the cafeteria, he came and started beating me, saying 'Eat properly, you bastard,'" asserting that torture was a normal situation in the dormitory. According to the news from Hazar Dost of Sözcü newspaper, B.A. stated, "We were treated like dogs," mentioning that he watched the incidents of violence on camera, but the footage was deleted afterward.
