In the Anamur district of Mersin, a garbage truck was rear-ended by a car during the night, resulting in the death of sanitation worker Adem Oğuz and leaving Yusuf Alataş seriously injured. The driver, identified as Ali B., who was found to have a blood alcohol level of 1.93 promille, was hospitalized with minor injuries and later arrested. As a result of a car crashing into a garbage collection truck from behind in the Anamur district of Mersin, Adem Oğuz (44), one of the cleaning workers who was emptying garbage from a container at that moment, lost his life, and Yusuf Alataş (42) was seriously injured. The driver of the car, Ali B., who was slightly injured and found to have a blood alcohol level of 1.93 promille, was arrested after receiving treatment.
The accident occurred around 04:00 last night on Alparslan Türkeş Boulevard in the Sağlık neighborhood of the district. The car with license plate 07 AHA 930, driven by Ali B., crashed into the municipal garbage collection truck with license plate 33 ADE 207, driven by Adem S. At that moment, cleaning workers Adem Oğuz and Yusuf Alataş, who were emptying garbage from the container into the truck, were seriously injured, while Ali B. and two others in the car were slightly injured. Health teams were dispatched to the accident site upon the notification of those nearby.

Five injured individuals were taken to the hospital by ambulances. Despite the doctors' intervention, Oğuz could not be saved. The lifeless body of Adem Oğuz was taken to the morgue for autopsy. It was reported that the other cleaning worker, Alataş, could not overcome the life-threatening situation. It was determined that the driver of the car, Ali B., had a blood alcohol level of 1.93 promille. After being discharged from treatment, Ali B. was taken into custody and arrested at the courthouse he was brought to.
