Italy experienced "spy" activity. A decision was announced regarding the two military attachés arrested on charges of transferring secret information to a Russian agent. Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani stated in a statement that the expulsion of the two military attachés from Russia's embassy in Italy had been decided. The Italian minister noted that the two Russian officials must leave Rome within three days. Tajani, saying Moscow continues to use "hybrid tools" against Italy and the West, described this as a "serious and unacceptable intervention" threatening national security.
RUSSIA WILL RESPOND TO ITALY'S DECISION
Russia's Foreign Ministry announced that it would respond to Italy's decision.
Prosecutors stated that the main suspect is a former officer in Italy's Carabinieri police force. It was reported that five more individuals are being investigated as part of the probe.
