İYİ Party Gaziantep Deputy Mehmet Mustafa Gürban, who has remained on the agenda with claims that he would switch to the AK Party in the backstage, made striking statements on the matter. Gürban said, 'If I switch to the AK Party, I will be more solution-oriented, my hand will be stronger. At least, we can make a phone call in the AK Party. I mean, when a person is going to get divorced, they return to their father's house.'

Mehmet Mustafa Gürban, a Member of Parliament for the İYİ Party from Gaziantep, who has been rumored in the corridors to be switching to the AK Party for some time, made striking statements regarding these claims.

"I CAN'T EVEN SUBMIT A MOTION IN PARLIAMENT"

Speaking to the local press in Gaziantep, Gürban stated that he had met with İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu and detailed the crises he alleged were occurring within the party.

Reacting against the İYİ Party administration and its aides, Gürban claimed he was obstructed in parliamentary work, using the following words: "I went to the chairman and said, 'I haven't been able to submit a motion for a year because 4 or 5 MPs won't sign it.' One of them even fired our advisors. There was a storm in Gaziantep, we toured the villages, but we can't submit motions. They won't sign, and our numbers are small."

"WHAT KIND OF OPPOSITION PARTY ARE YOU?"

Buğra Kavuncu said in his parliamentary speech, 'You must show me your speech first.' When I asked 'Why?', he said, 'I have dreams, I have political goals, I can't be on bad terms with anyone.' He says, 'Don't say things that will cause a fight with the MHP or the AK Party.' What kind of opposition party are you?"

"I WAS AN AK PARTY MEMBER FROM 2007 TO 2023; A PERSON RETURNS TO THEIR FATHER'S HOUSE WHEN THEY GET DIVORCED"

Reminding everyone of his past and political line, Gürban spoke in a way that would eliminate any questions about his potential transfer to the AK Party: "I was an AK Party Şahinbey member from 2007 to 2023. I left my party of 16 years and came here. I am not a person of idealist roots. If I switch to the AK Party, I will be more solution-oriented; I can't even submit motions in the İYİ Party anyway, so at least in the AK Party, I can make a phone call. I mean, a person returns to their father's house when they get divorced. I can't go and join the HDP."

"MAKING THE WOLF SIGN AND GETTING 10 PERCENT IS NOT SUSTAINABLE"

Targeting the party's current political style as well, the Gaziantep MP emphasized that he finds the opposition line being followed insufficient: "The President builds planes, goes to see Trump, develops the domestic defense industry. He distributes money to many retirees, and still gets 40 percent of the vote. We come out making the wolf sign and get 10 percent. This is not sustainable; we need to have a policy."

İYİ PARTY SPOKESPERSON KAVUNCU HAD SAID "HE'S NOT ANSWERING MY CALLS"

After Gürban removed the phrase "İYİ Party Gaziantep MP" from his social media profiles, İYİ Party Spokesperson Buğra Kavuncu had stated in recent days that "He couldn't reach Gürban and he wasn't answering his calls," which was noted as a development confirming the allegations.
