The U.S. and Syrian forces conducted a joint operation against ISIS's weapon depots in Syria. A statement from the U.S. Central Command said, "As part of the joint operation, more than 130 mortars and rockets, numerous infantry rifles, machine guns, anti-tank mines, and materials used in the production of improvised explosive devices were destroyed."
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that a joint operation was carried out in cooperation with Syrian forces against the weapon depots of the terrorist organization ISIS in Syria.
"MORE THAN 15 LOCATIONS WERE DESTROYED"
In a statement released by CENTCOM, it was stated, "CENTCOM and forces affiliated with the Syrian Ministry of Interior identified and destroyed more than 15 locations containing ISIS weapon depots in southern Syria between November 24-27."
"ISIS'S WEAPON DEPOTS WERE ANNIHILATED"
The statement continued, "U.S. military personnel within the Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) identified and destroyed ISIS's weapon depots through airstrikes and ground-controlled explosions conducted in the Rif Dimashq province in cooperation with Syrian forces. As part of the joint operation, more than 130 mortars and rockets, numerous assault rifles, machine guns, anti-tank mines, and materials used in the production of improvised explosive devices were destroyed. The forces also seized and destroyed illegal narcotics," it said.
"THIS IS A VERY SUCCESSFUL OPERATION"
CENTCOM Commander Admiral Brad Cooper stated, "This successful operation ensures that the gains made against ISIS are lasting and prevents the organization from regrouping and exporting terror to the U.S. or anywhere else in the world." Cooper added, "We will continue to monitor the remnants of ISIS in Syria and will aggressively pursue them."
