Jordan to continue to work shoulder to shoulder with NATO, says King Abdullah.

Jordan's King Abdullah II on Wednesday met with NATO's secretary-general and top EU officials in Brussels.

In a press briefing ahead of his bilateral meeting with Jens Stoltenberg, Abdullah appreciated NATO's support to Jordan over the years and also during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Abdullah said the future holds many challenges in the region and Jordan will continue to work shoulder to shoulder with NATO forces.

Stoltenberg, for his part, said, that NATO values Jordan's contributions to different NATO missions and operations, adding the country is also a "source of stability in the region."

Separately, Abdullah also met with EU Council President Charles Michel.

"Welcomed King Abdullah II confirming the excellent EU-Jordan relations. Exchanged on fight against COVID19 and key developments in the region where Jordan is a partner. We'll strengthen our cooperation to fight against terrorism & extremism and promote stability in the region," said Michel on Twitter.

EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen also met with the Jordanian king.

"The EU remains dedicated to a strong partnership with Jordan, enhanced to tackle the impact of COVID19," von der Leyen said on Twitter.

"We support the commitment to reforms and want to contribute to the long-term prosperity and stability of Jordan," she added. -
