In accordance with the NOTAM issued within the scope of the NATO Summit, it has been announced that temporary restrictions on air traffic will be implemented at Ankara Esenboğa Airport between specific hours on July 7 and 8, 2026. A critical warning was issued to passengers ahead of the practice, from which aircraft carrying heads of state and official delegations will be exempt.
Due to the NATO Summit to be held in the capital, regulations have been made in air traffic. In accordance with the published official NOTAM decision, temporary restrictions have been imposed on civilian flights using Ankara Esenboğa Airport between certain hours for two days.
RESTRICTED DATES AND TIMES
The dates and time intervals during which air traffic will be suspended or restricted are announced as follows:
- Tuesday, July 7, 2026: Between 10:00 – 18:00
- Wednesday, July 8, 2026: Between 14:00 – 21:00
EXEMPTION FOR HEADS OF STATE AND OFFICIAL DELEGATIONS
It was stated in the decision that civilian and military aircraft carrying foreign heads of state and their official delegations attending the summit will be exempt from this restriction.
A technical requirement has also been introduced for private and official flights using Esenboğa Airport under the exemption. Accordingly, it is mandatory to enter the code "STS/ATFMX" in field 18 of the flight plan for these flights.
IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR PASSENGERS
Authorities have warned citizens who have travel plans on the days and times when restrictions will be applied. To avoid any inconvenience at the airport and to prevent flight delays/cancellations, passengers are kindly requested to contact their airline operators and follow the latest information regarding their flights.
