A last-minute change has been made to the funeral program of Kadir İnanır, the legendary name of Turkish cinema who passed away, plunging all of Turkey into mourning. The farewell ceremony, previously announced to be held at the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM), has been updated to its new location, the Harbiye Muhsin Ertuğrul Stage. The master artist will be laid to rest following ceremonies to be held on Sunday.
The sad news from Kadir İnanır, the unforgettable face of Yeşilçam and master actor of Turkish cinema, plunged the art world and all of Turkey into mourning. The 77-year-old İnanır, who had been struggling with health issues for some time and was intubated at Acıbadem Fulya Hospital receiving intensive care, has passed away.

Details of the funeral ceremony for the legendary actor, whose death deeply shook millions, have been announced. The venue for the memorial service, previously announced to be held at Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM), has been updated. According to the farewell program, the first ceremony for the master artist will take place on Sunday, June 28, at 1:00 PM at the Harbiye Muhsin Ertuğrul Stage. Following the memorial service there, Kadir İnanır's body will be brought to Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha Mosque. After the funeral prayer, the master actor will be laid to rest in Ulus Cemetery with prayers. After the burial, condolences will be accepted at Akatlar Cultural Center.

LEVENT İNANIR: HE RESISTED A LOT, HE WAS VERY TIRED
Speaking to press members in front of the hospital after the news of the death, Kadir İnanır's nephew, actor Levent İnanır, stated that they once again understood how loved his uncle was during this process. Struggling to hold back tears, İnanır said:
"Everyone, known and unknown, prayed for him. During this time, I was in Diyarbakır and Bingöl for film shoots. Believe me, I couldn't walk on the street. I didn't know he was so loved."
Emphasizing that his uncle fought a great battle with the illness, Levent İnanır continued:
"I am a living witness. Thanks to the doctors as well. He experienced a lot of troubles over 8 consecutive years. He could endure this much. We last spoke before the intubation process. He was very good but was resisting. He even made a joke, but he was very tired, very worn out. May his soul rest in heaven."
OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE HOSPITAL
Prof. Dr. Hüsnü Görgen, Chief Physician of Acıbadem Fulya Hospital, who managed Kadir İnanır's treatment, shared a written statement informing the public about the cause of the artist's death. The statement summarizing the medical process included the following:
"Kadir İnanır, who was battling advanced stage lung cancer, had been treated at our hospital since May 13 due to respiratory distress and pneumonia caused by the cancer. He was admitted to intensive care on May 14 as respiratory failure deepened. Due to acute kidney failure and respiratory failure related to advanced stage lung cancer, his condition was critical, and he passed away today at 18:05 due to multiple organ failure. We extend our condolences to his family and all his loved ones."
