Wilhelmus Adrianus Leijdekkers, a critical figure in a Netherlands-based drug cartel who was captured in a joint operation by MIT and police in Istanbul, has been extradited to his country.

The suspect, who was wanted by Dutch authorities with a red notice for the crime of "laundering assets derived from crime" and was caught in an operation in Istanbul, has been extradited to his country.

Leijdekkers, who was caught in Turkey in 2024 due to cocaine trafficking but was released after a while, was accused by Dutch authorities of "laundering assets derived from crime. Leijdekkers was wanted with a red notice.
