After the "absolute nullity" decision in the CHP, attention has turned to Ali Mahir Başarır in the disciplinary process that has begun. It has been learned that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu told his aides regarding Başarır, who used harsh words against him in front of the CHP headquarters, "I will not forgive only him." While it is expected that a disciplinary process for Başarır's definitive expulsion will be initiated, it was stated that the issue will be brought to the MYK agenda.

The 36th Civil Chamber of the Ankara Regional Court of Appeals declared the CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress held on November 4-5, 2023 invalid with its "absolute nullity" decision uploaded to the UYAP system on the evening of May 21. With the decision, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and party bodies were dismissed, while Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu was reinstated as the CHP Chairman.

Following Özgür Özel's refusal to recognize the decision and his initiation of resistance at the CHP headquarters, striking scenes unfolded in Ankara. After Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's lawyer Celal Çelik submitted petitions to the Ankara Governorship, teams from the Ankara Provincial Police Department intervened at the CHP headquarters. It was reported that tear gas and plastic bullets were used during the intervention.

Following the incidents, damage occurred at the party building, and Özgür Özel left the building and began a march to the Turkish Grand National Assembly with a large group. Later, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's team entered the CHP headquarters.

KILIÇDAROĞLU AT THE HEADQUARTERS ON MAY 30

While efforts were initiated to repair the damage at the CHP headquarters, it was learned that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu would come to the party headquarters on May 30 to exchange greetings with party members for the holiday.

Kılıçdaroğlu is expected to address the crowd gathering in the CHP headquarters garden. It was stated that the actual work within the party would begin on June 1.

MESSAGE OF "PURIFICATION"

It was learned that following the Party Assembly meeting, the names planned to be expelled from the party would be presented to the CHP Central Executive Committee (MYK). It was stated that Kılıçdaroğlu called for "tolerance" during a meeting with his aides.

CHP İzmir Deputy Mahir Polat said, "Mr. Kemal even forgave and reconciled with the person who attacked him in Ankara weeks ago. Of course, he will forgive our CHP colleagues who asked for his forgiveness and apologized."

DISCIPLINARY PROCESS FOR ALİ MAHİR BAŞARIR

On the morning of May 24, a large group supporting Kılıçdaroğlu gathered in front of the CHP headquarters along with some CHP deputies and lawyers. Following the scuffle, CHP Deputy Group Chair Ali Mahir Başarır's words became a topic of discussion: "If he is going to have his friends, with whom he walked shoulder to shoulder for years, beaten or killed, then may God curse him. This nation will not forgive him. History will not forgive him."

While it was learned that Kılıçdaroğlu reacted strongly to these statements, preparations began to refer Ali Mahir Başarır to the disciplinary board with a request for definitive expulsion.

CHAIRMEN, INCLUDING İMAMOĞLU, WILL BE ASKED TO DEFEND

CHP mayors, including arrested Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who are facing ongoing legal processes with accusations of "corruption," "bribery," and various charges, will be asked to submit defenses to the party administration.

After the defenses are completed, following an evaluation in the MYK, the deemed necessary names will be referred to the CHP Supreme Disciplinary Board.

It is stated that with the absolute nullity decision, the majority in the CHP Supreme Disciplinary Board structure before November 2023 consists of names close to Kılıçdaroğlu, while in the MYK, there is a balanced distribution between supporters of Özgür Özel and Kılıçdaroğlu.
