Kremlin Foreign Policy Adviser Yuriy Ushakov said that if Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky calls, Russian President Vladimir Putin will answer the phone.
“IT MAKES SENSE FOR THEIR FIRST ROUNDS TO BE HELD IN A TRILATERAL FORMAT” Ushakov made statements to the Russian television channel Rossiya regarding the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis. Assessing the possibility of European representatives participating in the trilateral negotiations planned to be held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on the Ukraine issue, Ushakov said, “We have contacts at the working level with the Americans. Therefore, it makes sense for the first rounds of negotiations to be held in a trilateral format.”
Yuriy Ushakov "I THINK PUTIN WILL ANSWER THE PHONE IF ZELENSKY CALLS" Noting that Ukrainian President Zelensky could meet with Russian President Putin in Moscow, Ushakov said, “He is sending signals through various sources. If he wants to meet that much, let him come.”
When asked, “If Zelensky calls, will Putin answer the phone?” Ushakov replied, “I think Putin will answer. Putin has never refused to meet.”
ZELENSKY: I AM READY TO MEET WITH PUTIN IN TÜRKİYE On the other hand, Zelensky announced that he is ready to meet with Putin in Türkiye.
Stating that diplomatic initiatives need to be increased to end the Russia-Ukraine war, Zelensky noted that a trilateral meeting at the leaders' level in Türkiye has come onto the agenda again, and said that if Ankara hosts such a summit, Ukraine would gladly accept it.
Noting that the talks between technical teams alone did not yield sufficient results, the Ukrainian leader said he thought there was no problem that could not be solved if political will was demonstrated.
In an exclusive interview with CNN Türk, when asked whether he was ready to meet with Putin in Türkiye, Zelensky answered, “Yes, we are ready. We are ready for this meeting in Türkiye.”
