According to a statement from the Turkish Swimming Federation, Kuzey Tunçelli, representing Turkey at the World Junior Swimming Championships held in the Otopeni area near Bucharest, Romania, became the owner of the gold medal with a time of 7:46.52 in the 800-meter freestyle.
