Turkey has imposed a complete restriction on the arrival of ships flying the Israeli flag or owned by Israel to Turkey, as well as on the departure of Turkish-flagged ships to Israel. Instructions have been given to agencies and port authorities regarding this matter.

The port authorities in Turkey are launching a new application for foreign ships that are going to or may go to Israel. Ships visiting the port will be required to provide an official document stating that they are not carrying military cargo to Israel and that the ship operator is not connected to Israel.

LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY WITH THE AGENT

Two maritime sources stated that in the document requested from agents, all port expenses and legal responsibilities that may arise in the event that the ship carries military cargo or the operator is connected to Israel will be the responsibility of the agent.

NO DIRECT SHIP TRAFFIC WITH TURKEY

Sources emphasized that there is no direct commercial ship traffic from Turkey to Israel, and that this application is particularly aimed at foreign ships carrying cargo to Israel and using Turkish ports. This application aims to prevent military shipments by increasing oversight and responsibility in the ports.
