The Kyrgyzstan Prosecutor's Office has removed the Taliban from the list of "extremist and terrorist organizations" banned from operating within the country. The Prosecutor's Office has updated the list of organizations banned from operating within the country by the courts. The Taliban, previously ranked second on the updated list, has been removed. The list includes 20 banned organizations. BANNED IN 2006The Bishkek Pervomay Court banned the activities of the Taliban within the country on September 15, 2006, considering it a terrorist organization. The banned organization list includes Al-Qaeda, the East Turkestan Islamic Movement, the Kurdish People's Congress (Kongra-Gel), the East Turkestan Liberation Organization, and the Hizbut-Tahrir-Al-Islam movements. ISIS ALSO INCLUDEDThe list also includes the Jihad Group (Islamic Jihad Union), the Turkestan Islamic Party, the Muna Church, Jaysh al-Mahdi, Jund al-Khilafah, Ansarullah, At-Takfir Wal-Hijra, Akromiya, ISIS, Tikhomirov (Burat Said), Jabhat al-Nusra, Katibat al-Imam al-Bukhari, Lovers of Paradise, Jamaat Tawhid Wal-Jihad, and the Near Denial Movements.
