BOAT HITS BRIDGE PILLAR, CREW MEMBER FALLS INTO SEA DUE TO IMPACT
According to the information obtained, the tour boat named Hero, under the command of Mehmet P., began moving from the Golden Horn towards Eminönü. While the boat was passing under the Atatürk Bridge, it could not maneuver; then it hit the bridge pillar from its port side. Due to the impact, crew member Yasin Konya, who was at the front of the boat, lost his balance and fell into the Golden Horn.
RECOVERED AFTER 8 HOURS OF WORK
Following the incident, teams from the Harbor Branch Directorate and the Coast Guard were dispatched to the area, initiating search and rescue operations both above and below the water. After approximately 8 hours of work, Yasin Konya's lifeless body was reached, and his body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for autopsy.
