Have you condemned the death of 170 schoolgirls?"
The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reacted strongly to the request of some Arab countries for Moscow to intervene to stop Iran's military actions. Lavrov stated that Iran's actions have been criticized, but the attacks by the US and Israel have not been condemned in the same way.
"HAVE YOU CONDEMNED THE US AND ISRAEL?"
In his statement addressed to the Arab countries, Lavrov posed the following question:
Questioning whether they have condemned the attacks by the US and Israel on Iran, Lavrov particularly drew attention to the attack in which many female students lost their lives at a school in Iran.
The Russian minister said, "Have you condemned what the US and Israel have done? Have you condemned the death of 170 girls in a school?"
"UNILATERAL APPROACH IS UNACCEPTABLE"
Lavrov stated that it is unacceptable for the West to ignore military operations while constantly criticizing Iran's steps, emphasizing that Russia is against further escalation of tensions in the region for this reason.
Pointing out the dangers of ignoring the right to self-defense, Lavrov emphasized that arguing that Iran does not have the right to respond actually means openly encouraging the US and the occupying regime to continue their attacks. Highlighting that a country at the negotiation table is under attack, the Russian minister described this situation as "treacherous."
Referring to the draft resolution that some countries, including Bahrain, wanted to present to the UN Security Council, Lavrov stated: "I have heard that your countries, even Bahrain, are preparing to submit a draft to the UN that only condemns Iran without mentioning a single word about the actions of the US and Israel."
REGIONAL WAR WARNING
The Moscow administration also warns that the attacks by the US and Israel on Iran could further escalate tensions in the Middle East. Russia calls for a diplomatic solution, arguing that countries in the region should not be dragged into conflict.
