In Şırnak, as temperatures rise after the harsh winter season, hundreds of thousands of locusts have begun a mass migration towards cooler high plateaus; however, a large portion of the swarms invading the highways have been crushed and killed under vehicles.
After harsh winter conditions, a locust infestation is now occurring in Şırnak.
THEY TAKE TO THE ROADS IN SWARMS
With the warming weather, thousands of locusts emerging are getting stuck on vehicles on the road. Many of the swarming locusts are crushed under vehicles. Local residents said that locusts are seen in swarms every year in July.

Local people said, 'With the warming weather, locusts come out to cool places, and vehicles pass through the area where they emerge. Drivers unintentionally crush these animals. Hundreds of thousands of locusts go up to the plateaus.'
