With hours to go before world leaders set foot in Ankara for the major summit, the Presidential Complex is witnessing critical global and regional diplomatic receptions.
RECEIVED NATO SECRETARY GENERAL RUTTE
One of the most significant legs of President Erdogan's diplomatic traffic at the Complex began at 18:00. Erdogan received NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at the Presidential Complex. In this one-on-one meeting held just before the summit, the future of the alliance, regional security architecture, and the details of the summit agenda in Ankara were discussed.
ALSO MET WITH BULGARIAN PRIME MINISTER RADEV BEFOREHAND
The activity at Beshtepe was not limited to Rutte's reception. Just before his appointment with the NATO Secretary General, President Erdogan also met with the Prime Minister of neighboring country Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, at the Complex. Following this bilateral meeting, which covered border security, strategic cooperation between the two countries, and partnerships within NATO, Erdogan hosted Rutte, thereby directly conveying Turkey's strong messages of resolve to its allies ahead of the summit.
