In the 19 Mayıs district of Samsun, a person attacked lifeguards who were trying to remove his girlfriend from the sea. The gendarmerie intervened using pepper spray and firing shots into the air. Two individuals were taken to the police station for statements regarding the incident.
In the 19 Mayıs district of Samsun, Soner B. (26) attacked lifeguards who were trying to remove his girlfriend Aleyna Ç. (27) from the sea upon the gendarmerie's request, claiming they were filming. The gendarmerie intervened by firing warning shots and using pepper spray.
ATTACKED THE LIFEGUARD
Soner B., his girlfriend Aleyna T., and Elzem Ü. went swimming at Dereköy Beach in the 19 Mayıs district. After swimming and drinking alcohol together, Aleyna T. and Soner B. started arguing. Bystanders reported the incident to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Aleyna Ç. told the gendarmerie teams who arrived that they were just arguing and did not want to file a complaint, then went back swimming. When Elzem Ü. informed the gendarmerie that Aleyna Ç. had recently lost her father and was in a fragile psychological state, lifeguard teams were dispatched to the area.
GENDARMERIE INTERVENED
While the lifeguard teams were trying to bring Aleyna T. out of the sea, according to claims, Soner B. pushed another lifeguard he saw filming, causing him to fall. During the scuffle, the gendarmerie teams intervened by using pepper spray and firing warning shots.
The parties were taken to the 19 Mayıs District Gendarmerie Command to give their statements.
