In an operation conducted across 6 provinces centered in Izmir, 8 suspects were apprehended who were found to have gained approximately 30 million lira in illicit profits by copying the identification information of severely damaged vehicles onto stolen and smuggled luxury cars. During the operation, 14 luxury vehicles and 6 smuggled car engines were seized, while the detained suspects were referred to the courthouse.

THEY SOLD LUXURY VEHICLES USING THE "CHANGE" METHOD

Teams from the Izmir Public Security Directorate Auto Theft Bureau Office, within the scope of an investigation coordinated by the prosecutor's office, tracked an organized network.

As a result of technical and physical studies, it was determined that the suspects copied the chassis and engine information of heavily damaged vehicles that cannot be used on the road onto stolen or illegally imported luxury cars, and marketed them using the "change" method.

30 MILLION LIRA IN ILLEGAL PROFITS

It was determined that the suspects defrauded many citizens with this method and obtained approximately 30 million lira in illegal profits.

Within the scope of the investigation, 14 luxury vehicles belonging to the network and 6 vehicle engines found to have been illegally brought into the country were seized in Izmir, Istanbul, Kırklareli, Adıyaman, Manisa, and Isparta.

8 SUSPECTS CAUGHT

Police teams conducted simultaneous operations on June 23 at identified addresses in Izmir. In the operation, 8 suspects named A.A., F.A., E.Y., M.K., V.A., B.E.B., B.Y., and S.Z. were taken into custody. After their procedures at the police station were completed, the suspects were referred to the courthouse.
