In Başakşehir, it was claimed that the former management did not hand over the site to the newly elected management and that 5 million liras from the site accounts were transferred to other accounts in a site consisting of hundreds of independent units. In response, the residents protested the former management.
A management crisis is occurring at the Ağaoğlu My World Başakşehir site, located on Karacaoğlan Street in the Ziya Gökalp neighborhood of Başakşehir, Istanbul, which consists of 3,149 independent units.
ALLEGATION THAT "THE OLD MANAGEMENT TRANSFERRED 5 MILLION LIRA TO OTHER ACCOUNTS"
According to the allegation, no transfer process was carried out by the old management to the new site management that took office after the general assembly. It was claimed that despite the end of the old management's term, they transferred approximately 5 million TL from the site's bank accounts to different accounts.
THEY PROTESTED
Following the developments, a large number of site residents gathered in front of the management building to protest the old management. The crowd reacted by chanting slogans.
“THEY ARE NOT OPENING THE DOORS”
Erdal Köseli, one of the site residents, stated, "Right now, all the apartment owners are here, and we have been elected as the management. They are not opening the doors. We went to SGK and banks this morning, and we obtained the passwords for the bank accounts. After obtaining the passwords, there was 7.5 million in the account after 1:30 PM. They transferred 5 million. We do not know where they sent it. This security company currently owes SGK 20 million. As representatives elected by the will of the apartment owners, we have established the board of directors and we want the old management to transfer the authority to the new board of directors," he said.
“OVER 20 MILLION SGK DEBT HAS EMERGED”
Another site resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said, "We had our first ordinary congress on January 24, 2026. Part of this election was held with three blocks. While it was continuing smoothly, they suddenly stated that they canceled the management elections. However, there was no security issue. Later, on January 31, 2026, we held our second ordinary election normally across all sites. We did not experience any security issues. Representatives were elected in all blocks. These representative friends later formed the management. They also took the decision book.
They completed all legal procedures, and the accounts in the banks were transferred to the new management. Currently, the new management wants to take over the facility from the old management. Legally, everything, money, management, everything should be with the current new management. However, the old management does not want to hand this over, and today there was a movement of 5 million after 6:00 PM, completely unlawfully and irregularly. Over 20 million SGK debt has emerged. We believe there are other debts as well. This is a poorly managed site; site managements across Turkey have already become notorious. As owners, we want to put an end to this. Hopefully, we will all put an end to this together," he said.
