In a press conference he organized, Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş made statements regarding early elections and his candidacy for the presidency. He expressed his opinion on the CHP's decision to hold a 'primary election' to determine the presidential candidate, stating, "I believe that it is too early to determine a candidate."
The Mayor of Ankara, Mansur Yavaş, who held a press conference, made statements regarding the presidential election and the candidate determination efforts within the CHP.
"I THINK IT'S EARLY FOR CANDIDATE DETERMINATION"
Yavaş, who expressed his opposition to the "Primary election" decision announced by CHP leader Özgür Özel, said, "I think it's early for candidate determination. The election date is not yet clear. Conditions may change by then. I believe that the society should not deal with this while there are economic difficulties. I want all political parties, especially the opposition, to take a stand against poverty," he said.

When asked whether he would be a candidate if there were a primary election, Yavaş replied, "There is no such thing. Let's see what happens, first let the election date be clear."
RESPONSE TO ERDOĞAN'S "THEY ENTERED THE RACE" REMARK
Responding to President Erdoğan's statement referring to Ekrem İmamoğlu and Mansur Yavaş as 'they entered the race for candidacy', Yavaş continued his remarks: "The President can criticize. However, the real situation is as follows. Society is in an unbearable condition. An election must be held as soon as possible. In any case, we want early elections. But since the election date is not clear, I said what are we going to discuss. AK Party's deputies should go to the market, look at the citizens' situation, and they will understand the situation. When you go out to the street, you see the real inflation. Although they say 2028, I believe they won't be able to carry it until 2028. The citizens should be freed from suffering."
