Due to May 1 Labor and Solidarity Day, police intervened against groups attempting to hold unauthorized demonstrations in various districts of Istanbul. More than 300 people were detained, and the Taksim, Şişhane, and Osmanbey metro stations were closed until further notice.
In Istanbul, 366 people were detained for participating in unauthorized marches on May 1, Labor and Solidarity Day.
While May 1, Labor and Solidarity Day was celebrated with various programs at Kadıköy Pier and Kartal Squares, groups gathered in some parts of the province wanted to march without permission. Police teams taking security measures in Istanbul warned the groups wanting to march without permission to disperse.

However, when the protesters, ignoring the warnings, continued to march with slogans, they faced police intervention. It was learned that a total of 366 people were detained across the province. The detained individuals were taken to the police station in a police vehicle.
INTERVENTION IN MECİDİYEKÖY
Riot police teams closed the road to traffic in the direction of Mecidiyeköy and Şişli. While some of the riot police teams continued their wait in front of the shopping mall in Mecidiyeköy, another part was stationed at the entrance of Mecidiyeköy. The teams intervened against those who wanted to stage an unauthorized demonstration; there were detentions.
TAKSİM, ŞİŞHANE AND OSMANBEY METRO STATIONS CLOSED
Police also intervened in another group that tried to open a banner and march without permission in the direction of Mecidiyeköy. There were detentions during the intervention. Meanwhile, Taksim, Şişhane and Osmanbey metro stations were closed to operation until further notice.
