After the Galatasaray derby, Fenerbahçe football player Mert Hakan Yandaş, who was seen pushing and arguing with a security officer, made a statement about the incident. Stating that he was misunderstood, Mert Hakan complained that the events were being dragged in a different direction.

Following the final whistle of the Galatasaray derby, Fenerbahçe footballer Mert Hakan Yandaş, who was seen first pushing a security officer and then arguing with him amid the tension on the pitch and at the tunnel entrance, made statements about the incidents.

''I APOLOGIZE''

Drawing attention to the high tension at the end of the match, the experienced footballer expressed his sorrow over the images that emerged and said, ''Being involved in any attitude targeting them was out of the question yesterday, and it is not the case today either. If I unintentionally caused a misunderstanding due to the stress of that moment, I apologize to them as well.''

''THEY ARE TRYING TO PULL IT IN DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS''

Stating that an attempt was being made to shift the incident to a different point through him, Mert Hakan voiced his complaint with the words, ''I now hope that what happened will be evaluated without being detached from its real context and that different meanings will not be attributed through me.''

Mert Hakan's statement is as follows:

"At no stage of the incidents that occurred after the derby match we played yesterday was I involved in any argument. With the sorrow and tension of losing the match, I was only trying to go inside without speaking to anyone.

However, I see that there is again an attempt to pull what happened to different points through me in public opinion. First of all, I would like to state clearly that I have not had any word or behavior toward our state's security forces, especially the police officers performing their duty, that is hurtful, offensive, or insulting. Being involved in any attitude targeting them was out of the question yesterday, and it is not the case today either. If I unintentionally caused a misunderstanding due to the stress of that moment, I also apologize to them.

I now hope that what happened will be evaluated without being detached from its real context and that different meanings will not be attributed through me.

Finally, we sincerely apologize to the Great Fenerbahçe Fans because we left the pitch last night with a result we did not want. We are aware of this community's expectations and the responsibility of the jersey we wear. We will resolutely continue our fight to make up for the sorrow we caused, to rise much stronger, and to carry our Fenerbahçe to the place it deserves."
