Two options have been offered to the rights holders of Kardeşler Apartment, which collapsed in Maltepe, Istanbul, on October 8, and of the surrounding buildings. Those who wish will be able to receive the keys to the new residences prepared in the İETT Blocks in Esenkent Neighborhood starting tomorrow, while the homes of those who do not wish will be rebuilt on-site under the coordination of TOKİ and the Presidency of Urban Transformation. In both options, favorable long-term payment terms will be offered.
New housing was prepared by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change for entitled citizens in the Kardeşler Apartment Building, which collapsed on October 8 in the Cevizli Neighborhood of Maltepe in Istanbul, and in the surrounding buildings.
According to the statement made by the Ministry, the Urban Transformation Directorate met with all entitled citizens within 9 days after the building collapsed.
TWO OPTIONS OFFERED
The Directorate offered 2 options, including that entitled citizens who wish can receive the keys to their new homes in the İETT Blocks in Esenkent Neighborhood as of tomorrow, and that entitled citizens who wish can have their homes rebuilt in place under the coordination of the Urban Transformation Directorate.
Meanwhile, sample apartments were shown to the citizens, and as a result of the works, the keys will be handed over to citizens who want to receive ready apartments 20 days after the collapse.
In both options, suitable payment conditions spread over many years will be offered to citizens.
MINISTER KURUM: THEY ARE REACHING THEIR NEW HOMES
Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum also made a statement on the issue from his NSosyal account.
Minister Kurum said, "Entitled citizens of the Kardeşler Apartment Building, which collapsed on October 8, and the surrounding area are reaching their new homes. Those who wish can receive the keys to their new homes in the İETT Blocks in Esenkent Neighborhood as of tomorrow. Those who do not want this will have their homes transformed in place with TOKİ and will own their new homes under suitable payment conditions."
