The General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) issued an orange warning for Muğla, where very heavy and severe rainfall is expected, and a yellow-code warning for 18 provinces, including Antalya, İzmir, and Diyarbakır. The downpour that was effective during the night hours left houses, workplaces, and greenhouses underwater in the Fethiye district of Muğla. In areas warned against the risk of flash floods, flooding, landslides, storms, and tornadoes, rainfall is expected to continue until the morning of Thursday, October 29.
Turkey has come under the influence of rainy systems entering from the southwest and southeast. While up to 100 kilograms per square meter of precipitation is expected on the coasts of Muğla and Antalya, a storm warning was issued for the Northern Aegean.
DOWNPOUR PARALYZED LIFE IN FETHİYE
The downpour that was effective during the night in the Fethiye district of Muğla caused flooding in residential areas and agricultural areas. Houses, businesses and greenhouses belonging to farmers were left underwater. Citizens tried to drain the water that flooded their homes and businesses with their own means.
It was stated that farmers suffered serious damage due to flooding in the greenhouses. Because of water accumulating on some roads in the district, drivers had difficulty advancing.

Adverse weather conditions also affected sea transportation. Two ferry services on the Kabatepe-Gökçeada route were canceled.
RISK OF FLOOD, LANDSLIDE AND TORNADO
MGM warned that sudden floods, flash floods and landslides may occur due to heavy precipitation. MGM, asking for precautions against lightning, localized hail, strong wind during precipitation and tornado on the coasts, also drew attention to possible disruptions in transportation and a decrease in visibility. People living near stream beds and drivers were asked to be careful.
PRECIPITATION IN ISTANBUL WILL INCREASE ON REPUBLIC DAY
Istanbul is not among the provinces for which MGM issued a color-coded warning. However, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) warned that “intermittent showers and locally strong downpours will occur over the city for 7 days.” In Istanbul, where 1-5 kilograms per square meter of precipitation is expected today, the heaviest precipitation is expected on Thursday, October 29, when 10-20 kilograms is forecast.
According to AKOM, due to the cold air coming over the Balkans, temperatures will range between 13-16 degrees, below seasonal norms. The northeasterly wind is expected to blow strongly at times.
