While millions of minimum wage earners are focused on the upcoming salary increase, Minister of Labor Vedat Işıkhan announced that negotiations will begin in the first week of December. In the corridors, it has been mentioned that there could be an increase of 32-35% in the minimum wage, and with such an increase, the figure is expected to rise to 23,000 TL.

The purchasing power of citizens has eroded against the minimum wage. Eyes have turned to the minimum wage that will be valid in 2025. In the last Economic Coordination Board meeting, it was reported that the minimum wage increase was discussed, and government officials expect a raise based on the average of the inflation that will be revealed at the end of the year and the targeted inflation for 2025.

The Central Bank's year-end inflation forecast was announced as 44%, while the target for 2025 was set at 21%. If the Central Bank's forecast holds, the minimum wage is expected to be 24,500 TL. However, it is stated that there could be an increase of 32-35% in the minimum wage.

If there is an increase in these rates, the minimum wage will rise from 17,002 TL to 22,500 or 23,000 TL. Citizens' demand is for the minimum wage to be 30,000 TL.

Speaking about the minimum wage, Minister of Labor Vedat Işıkhan stated that the Minimum Wage Determination Commission will meet in the first or second week of December. Işıkhan said, "We will carry out the process as we did last year."
