According to information obtained, the economic administration is not receptive to these demands, citing that salary hikes could widen the budget deficit. The camp also addressed the "Terror-Free Turkey" process, daytime television programs, social media regulations, and hobby gardens.
At the consultation camp organized by AK Party in Sakarya, parliamentarians made assessments on many issues, particularly the economy. In the meetings, demands regarding the economic situation of low-income citizens and retirees came to the forefront.
DEMAND FOR INCREASE IN RETIREE PENSIONS
According to information obtained, parliamentarians expressed expectations for increasing retiree pensions and strengthening support provided to producers.
However, it was learned that the economic administration viewed these demands negatively, citing that salary improvements could increase the budget deficit.
LEGISLATION PREPARATION FOR 'TERROR-FREE TURKEY'
According to a report by Türkiye Newspaper, the 'Terror-Free Turkey' process was also discussed during the meeting. While there was strong support for the process overall, it was emphasized that it should be carried out cautiously.
It was noted that expectations are high for a related bill to be presented to Parliament before the Turkish Grand National Assembly goes into recess, and it was stated that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has given instructions in this direction. It was reported that AK Party is working on a 12-13 article bill, and the regulation could mature in July.
DAYTIME PROGRAMS AND SOCIAL MEDIA ON THE AGENDA
Daytime television programs were also discussed at the camp. There was strong demand to remove programs that were stated to damage family structure and push moral boundaries.
Additionally, proposals for stricter sanctions on posts inciting hatred and enmity on social media were among the agenda items of the meeting.
DEMOLITION MESSAGE FOR HOBBY GARDENS
The topic of hobby gardens was also addressed at the meeting. It was stated that construction on forest and agricultural lands around metropolitan areas would not be permitted, and it was conveyed that AK Party's administration assessed that these structures would be demolished.
