Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek announced that 382 suspects have been detained so far within the scope of the "Narko Trap Gaziantep Operation" conducted in 14 provinces centered in Gaziantep. It was reported that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining 91 suspects, along with 4 individuals who are fugitives abroad.
Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek announced in a statement on his X account that 382 suspects have been detained so far as part of the "Narko Kapan Gaziantep Operation" centered in Gaziantep, conducted across 14 provinces. Gürlek stated that the operation was carried out under the coordination of the Gaziantep Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, following six months of technical and physical work by the Gaziantep Provincial Police Department.
548 SUSPECTS IDENTIFIED ONE BY ONE
Minister Gürlek announced that within the scope of efforts to cleanse the streets of Gaziantep from drug dealers, 548 suspects identified as engaging in street-level drug trafficking were individually identified. Gürlek noted that 75 of the suspects were in prisons, stated that 382 suspects have been detained so far in the simultaneous operation across 14 provinces centered in Gaziantep, and indicated that procedures continue for 91 remaining suspects, along with 4 individuals identified as fugitives abroad.
"WE LEAVE NO SPACE"
Emphasizing that the fight against drugs continues with determination in his statement, Gürlek said, "We leave no space for drug barons, street dealers, and their digital networks who target the future of our youth, the peace of our families, and the security of our cities."

Gürlek thanked the Gaziantep Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Gaziantep Provincial Police Department, the General Directorate of Security's Narcotics Crimes Department, and all public officials involved in the operation, stating that the fight against drugs and organized crime continues under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in coordination with the Ministry of Interior. Gürlek said, "Drug dealers who target our children's future should know that the breath of our state will always be on their necks."
