Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek announced the establishment of 7 new directorates within the ministry to strengthen the criminal justice system. Emphasizing the special importance of the Directorate for Investigation of Unsolved Crimes, Gürlek highlighted that institutional capacity has been increased to solve cases like Gülistan Doku. The Minister stated that specialization has been pursued in combating terrorism, digital crimes, and disinformation, expressing that their goal is to build a faster and more reliable system.
Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek announced a radical structural change in the criminal justice system, declaring that 7 new directorates have been established within the Ministry. The most notable unit in the new structure is the Unsolved Crimes Investigation Directorate, established to shed light on cases that wound the public conscience.
"CAPACITY INCREASED FOR CASES LIKE GÜLİSTAN DOKU"
Minister Gürlek, who made a statement via his social media account, stated that they are acting with the vision of "Making the Turkish Century the Century of Justice." Drawing attention especially to unanswered investigations, Gürlek said, "We are further strengthening our institutional capacity in this field to shed light on unsolved incidents that leave deep marks on the public conscience, such as the Gülistan Doku investigation." This newly established directorate will elevate coordination among investigation units in unsolved cases to the highest level.

Emphasizing the importance of specialization in the criminal justice system, Minister Gürlek stated that effectiveness will increase across a wide spectrum from terrorism to digital crimes, and from disinformation to narcotic crimes. Gürlek listed the 7 newly established units as follows:
Unsolved Crimes Investigation Directorate
Public Order, Digital Environment Security and Fight Against Disinformation Directorate
Terror Crimes Directorate
Financing of Terrorism and Money Laundering Crimes Directorate
Organized, Narcotic and Economic Crimes Directorate
Natural Disasters and Accidents Directorate
Judicial Custody Directorate

Stating that the new units will accelerate investigation processes, Minister Gürlek said their primary goal is to strengthen public trust in the justice system. Gürlek stated, "Our goal is to build a faster, more effective, and more reassuring justice system. We will continue to work decisively for the Century of Justice."
