Justice Minister Akin Gurlek will meet today with the family of former Special Operations Department Head Behcet Oktay. The meeting is expected to address the family's requests regarding a comprehensive re-examination of the death case of Oktay, who passed away in Ankara in 2009.

During the meeting to be held at the Ministry, the request to re-evaluate the file regarding the death of Behçet Oktay, who was alleged to have committed suicide with his own weapon in 2009, is expected to be brought up.
While Oktay's family claims that FETÖ had a role in the death incident, they demand that the file be re-examined comprehensively. It has been learned that during the meeting, the family will convey their requests in this regard to Minister of Justice Gürlek.
WHO IS BEHÇET OKTAY?
Former Special Operations Department Head Behçet Oktay was born on July 17, 1957, in the Hekimhan district of Malatya. After graduating from the Police College and the Police Academy, he served in various provinces. In 1997, he was appointed as the Head of the Special Operations Department of the General Directorate of Security and was cited as one of the three names who established the Police Special Operations organization.
Oktay, who was awarded the Turkish Armed Forces Golden Superior Courage and Self-Sacrifice Medal, was found dead next to his vehicle in Ankara on February 25, 2009.
