On the third day of events organized within the scope of "London Climate Action Week," Minister Kurum attended the "Clean Air Coalition High-Level Reception" hosted by King Charles III of the United Kingdom at the historic St. James's Palace.
WORLD LEADERS AND GLOBAL ACTORS GATHERED
The high-level reception held at the palace was attended by Minister Murat Kurum, representing Turkey in his capacity as COP31 President, along with numerous prominent figures from around the world. Participants included UK Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero Ed Miliband, United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Mottley, each delivering speeches on the global climate crisis.
SHARED THE COP31 ROADMAP
Speaking at the reception, Minister Murat Kurum emphasized determined efforts against the global climate crisis and shared the strategic roadmap of the COP31 Presidency, to be led by Turkey, with the world public.
In his speech, Minister Kurum highlighted Turkey's environmental vision, sustainable development goals, and the most critical items of the action agenda, presenting projects aimed at reducing carbon emissions from industry to transportation.
INVITATION: "LET'S MEET IN ANTALYA IN NOVEMBER"
In the final part of his speech, Minister Kurum made a strong call to the international community. Emphasizing the importance of global cooperation against the devastating effects of climate change, Kurum invited all participants and world leaders to the 31st United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP31 Summit) to be held in Antalya in November.
Following the reception, Minister Kurum met with the host, King Charles III of the United Kingdom, for a private discussion on climate actions and environmental projects. After the talks, inter-delegation meetings commenced.
