After Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced that he would go to Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, for negotiations, the US also made its decision. US President Trump sent his son-in-law Kushner and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff to Islamabad for the talks. It was stated that Iranian and US delegations will hold direct talks tomorrow.

Hope for peace between the US and Iran has increased again. After Iran's Foreign Minister surprisingly announced that he would go to Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, for negotiations, the US also took a step.

US DELEGATION TO MEET WITH IRAN IN ISLAMABAD

US President Donald Trump decided to send a negotiation delegation to Islamabad. The delegation going to Pakistan includes Trump's son-in-law Kushner and his Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.

WHITE HOUSE: MEETING TOMORROW, REQUEST FROM IRAN

White House Spokesperson Karoline Leavitt confirmed that US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, and Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, will meet with Iranian officials in Pakistan tomorrow, stating, "Iranians contacted and requested a face-to-face meeting."

In the process that began with the US-Israeli attacks on Iran on February 28, a temporary two-week ceasefire was reached on April 8. After the ceasefire, the talks held in Pakistan on April 11 lasted approximately 21 hours, but no agreement was reached between the parties.

DISAGREEMENTS PERSIST

Initiatives for a second round of talks under Pakistan's mediation also remained inconclusive. Disagreements, particularly on various issues such as the US naval blockade against Iran, made progress difficult.

CONTACT MADE FOR NEW ROUND

According to Iranian state television, Araghchi spoke by phone with Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff, Marshal Munir, and Foreign Minister Dar. The talks covered regional developments and the ceasefire process.

MEETING TO BE HELD IN ISLAMABAD

Araghchi is expected to travel to Pakistan today for face-to-face meetings with the delegation. According to information reported by CNN International, it remains uncertain whether the US will participate in the talks.

ISLAMABAD ON STANDBY FOR POSSIBLE NEGOTIATIONS

Meanwhile, Pakistan's capital, Islamabad, is being kept ready due to the possibility of potential new talks between the US and Iran. However, the parties have not yet confirmed their participation in a second round of negotiations. As the sixth day of main road closures in Islamabad begins, no statement has been made regarding when the restrictions will be lifted. While heavy-tonnage vehicles are not allowed into the city, reports that this situation is slowing down fresh food shipments and causing disruptions in the supply chain have been featured in the Western media agenda.
