Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek announced that despite global uncertainties, industrial production increased by 6 percent annually in April, and growth in high-tech production continues.
Mehmet Şimşek noted that the increase in industrial production is particularly strong in high-tech areas, emphasizing that efforts continue toward Turkey's goal of becoming a global production hub.
In a post on his social media account, Şimşek evaluated the industrial production data for April.
ANNUAL INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION INCREASE OF 6 PERCENT
Despite uncertainties in the global economy and challenges in foreign markets, Şimşek pointed out that calendar-adjusted industrial production increased by 6 percent annually in April, while the annual increase in the January-April period was 1.3 percent.
NOTABLE RISE IN HIGH-TECH PRODUCTION
Stating that capital goods production increased by 8.2 percent annually in the said period, Şimşek emphasized that medium-high-tech production rose by 7.1 percent and high-tech production by 14.6 percent.
“WE ARE MOVING TOWARD THE GOAL OF BECOMING A PRODUCTION CENTER”
Expressing that they aim to further strengthen Turkey's production capacity, Şimşek stated, "With our policies promoting high value-added investment and production, we continue our efforts to make Turkey a global production center."
