The Minister of Treasury and Finance, Mehmet Şimşek, stated that the transformation in Turkey's export structure is accelerating and announced that support for high-tech and competitive production will be further increased.
Şimşek, in his assessment shared on social media, expressed that the progress in technology-focused exports is gratifying by sharing the foreign trade data for November.
"TECHNOLOGY LEVEL IN EXPORTS IS RISING"
According to the data shared by Minister Şimşek, annual exports reached 270.6 billion dollars in November. Due to the rise in global gold prices, imports amounted to 361.9 billion dollars. Şimşek pointed out that there was a 9.6% increase in the export of high and medium-high technology products, especially in the January-November period. Emphasizing that the share of these product groups in manufacturing industry exports has risen to 43%, which is an important threshold for Turkey, Şimşek stated, "The technology composition of our exports is strengthening."
"SUPPORT FOR PRODUCTIVE SECTORS WILL INCREASE"
Şimşek stated that they are determined to grow Turkey's high-tech production capacity and conveyed the following message: "We continue to implement our active industrial policies with the aim of increasing high-tech production and our competitiveness. We are further strengthening our supports for productive and strategic sectors."
