The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, announced that a total of 8 million 425 thousand 491 vehicles passed through the highways during the Ramadan Bayram holiday. Uraloğlu stated, "The number of passengers at Istanbul Airport during the Ramadan Bayram in 2024 reached 892 thousand 810, compared to 842 thousand 367 last year. Marmaray carried 77 thousand 167 more passengers this holiday compared to the same period last year."

During the holiday, 1 million 295 thousand 639 vehicles used the Mahmutbey-Edirne Highway, while 2 million 109 thousand 974 vehicles used the Istanbul-Ankara Highway. 616 thousand 456 vehicles passed through the Adana Highway, 541 thousand 920 through the Mersin Highway, and 604 thousand 380 through the Çeşme-İzmir-Aydın Highway. A total of 1 million 396 thousand 404 vehicles used the Northern Marmara Highway. 350 thousand 747 vehicles passed through the Ankara-Niğde Highway in 4 days. 1 million 277 thousand 646 vehicles used the Gebze-Orhangazi-Izmir Highway, 100 thousand 953 the Malkara-Çanakkale Highway, 50 thousand 349 the Menemen-Aliağa-Çandarlı Highway, and 81 thousand 23 the Aydın-Denizli Highway," he said.
TRANSITS THROUGH BRIDGES
Minister Uraloğlu noted that during the period from March 29 to April 1, 50 thousand 582 vehicles used the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge and 303 thousand 569 vehicles used the Osmangazi Bridge. Uraloğlu reminded that during the day of Arife and the 3-day official holiday, the highways under the General Directorate of Highways, as well as the Fatih Sultan Mehmet and 15 July Martyrs bridges, provided free service by presidential decision. During the specified date range, 1 million 25 thousand 593 vehicles used the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, while 810 thousand 676 vehicles passed through the 15 July Martyrs Bridge. He also stated that 343 thousand 850 vehicles passed through the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge.
'MARMARAY CARRIED 77,167 MORE PASSENGERS'
Minister Uraloğlu stated that Marmaray, which connects the two sides of Istanbul by rail, served 2 million 156 thousand 902 passengers during the period from March 29 to April 1, noting that this number was 2 million 79 thousand 735 during the 2024 Ramadan holiday. Uraloğlu said, "This year, Marmaray carried 77 thousand 167 more passengers compared to the same period last year."
Uraloğlu pointed out that a similar mobility was also observed on the Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport-Arnavutköy Line, stating, "Last year during Ramadan, the number of passengers using the Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport-Arnavutköy Line was 101 thousand 912, while this year it was 117 thousand 565. In Ankara, last year during the same period, Başkentray served 167 thousand 328 passengers. This year, 291 thousand 312 passengers traveled with Başkentray," he expressed.
Uraloğlu stated, "During the 2024 Ramadan holiday, we hosted 842 thousand 367 passengers at Istanbul Airport, while this year the number of passengers reached 892 thousand 810." Minister Uraloğlu noted that between March 26 and April 1, intercity bus companies carried 2 million 418 thousand 407 passengers on 70 thousand 627 trips.
