The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) announced on June 28, 2024 that Turkey has been removed from the grey list. FATF, which assesses the compliance of world economies with combating financial crimes, had placed Turkey on the grey list in 2021 due to its lag in combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism.
