The Houthis in Yemen announced that they targeted the Ras Tanura and Rabigh refineries in Saudi Arabia and Saudi Aramco facilities in Abqaiq with missiles and UAVs. Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree claimed that attacks on airports in Riyadh and Dammam disrupted air traffic, and that there were casualties and injuries in an attack on a military command center in Najran.
SANA, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Yemen's Houthis announced that they carried out missile and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacks on oil facilities, airports, and a military position in Saudi Arabia.
ARAMCO FACILITIES AND REFINERIES TARGETED
Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said in a statement broadcast on the group's Al-Masirah television on Thursday that they targeted the Ras Tanura Refinery in eastern Saudi Arabia, Saudi Aramco facilities in Abqaiq, and the Rabigh Refinery on the country's Red Sea coast.
AIRPORTS AND MILITARY CENTER ALSO TARGETED
Saree said two attacks in which they targeted King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital Riyadh with missiles and King Fahd International Airport in the eastern city of Dammam with a UAV also caused disruptions to air traffic.
Saree also claimed that they struck a command center belonging to the Saudi army in the southern border region of Najran, alleging that the attack caused casualties and injuries among military personnel.
RETALIATION FOR SAUDI AIRSTRIKES
The spokesman noted that the attacks were carried out in retaliation for recent Saudi airstrikes on Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen.
The Saudi-led coalition said in an early Thursday statement that its air defense systems intercepted 3 Houthi ballistic missiles, two in the capital Riyadh and one in the east of the country.
