Nezir Atak (70), who had Alzheimer's and went missing in the Serik district of Antalya, was found dead in a lemon grove 10 kilometers from his home. While search efforts were ongoing, the body was located following a report from the grove owner; the cause of death will be determined by an autopsy.
Nezir Atak (70), who had Alzheimer's disease and had been missing for 3 days in the Serik district of Antalya, was found dead in a lemon grove approximately 10 kilometers from his home.
BODY FOUND 10 KILOMETERS AWAY
After not hearing from Nezir Atak, who lived in the Şatırlı neighborhood of Serik district and was reported to have Alzheimer's disease, for 3 days, his daughter notified the 112 Emergency Call Center. Following the missing person report, gendarmerie, AFAD, and IHH teams launched a search operation. While the teams continued their search for Atak in the area, a male body was found in the evening hours in a lemon grove in the Abdurrahmanlar neighborhood, 10 kilometers away.
INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED INTO THE INCIDENT
The gendarmerie team dispatched to the scene upon the report of the grove owner determined that the body belonged to Atak, who had been sought as missing for 3 days. Atak's body, found 10 kilometers from his home, was taken to the morgue of the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute after the examination at the scene. The cause of Atak's death will be confirmed after the autopsy.
The gendarmerie's investigation into the incident continues.
